Like Tim O'Brien, who used his writing to illustrate the horrors and mind numbing memories soldiersfaced in Nam, certain soldiers used several forms of art in depicting their stories of the war. Some paintedand drew after the returned home, others have the photographs and doodles from the days in the front lines.

For Richard J. Olsen, or what most people like to call him Richard "Ole" Olsen, serving in Vietnam was way more than just something people call a memory. He thinks Vietnam was more of life-long friendships, and most of all it influenced him on his artistic abilities, the war gave him ideas on what to paint.

Micheal Brostowitz

"For years I have lived with the pleading screams of dying boys denied the fortune to age into men. The sounds of them crying for God and begging for their mothers have become stronger as I have grown older. It's ironic that as my hearing ability has diminished with age that those silent sounds have become louder and clearer." (Brostowits)
